Today, only 16% of boards include people of color in a country made up of 40% minorities. Only 8.6% of those seats are filled by Black executives.
In the fall of 2020, One Better Ventures partnered with Baldwin& to found Take Your Seat, an organization focused on making the Boardrooms of America better reflect America one seat at a time.
The simple premise of Take Your Seat is to ask senior board members to create, earmark, or resign a board seat to make room for qualified people of color.
